AHW

Well, I finished most of my homework, tomorrow morning I am going to study for my social studies test and try to do more of my pronouns packet. I have a few pages left. I think that if I get about 2 done tomorrow along with just finishing up with one, I think that tomorrow night I will be able to finish up the last few. If I can't I will just wake up early again. I like late start days because sometimes you sleep in, sometimes you wake up and do fun things, and sometimes you do homework because it is a nice time to finish up homework. Anyway, I am looking forward to sleeping right now.

Study Guide

Loyalist Talk:
Jonathan Boucher: I am a preacher and a loyalist
Me: I am just a young loyalist coming to talk to you to share my ideas and see your ideas
Jonathan Boucher: I say that the King should rule us and the King was created by god.
Me: Yes, I think that the King should rule us.
Jonathan  Boucher: I also believe that if you do not follow the king's rules you will not go to heaven and life will be harder
Me: I just believe that the colonists can not handle ruling themselves
Jonathan Boucher: I have one last reason to be a Loyalist: I say that if you try to get independence, because this will lead to a War with Britain.
Me: I definitely agree with that one. That was my main reason why I was a Loyalist, because I did not want to get into a war
Jonathan Boucher: Well, I think that we both have similar goals, so let's go out and try to convince those Patriots to be Loyalists
Me:Yeah, I don't want to get in a war either.

Patriot Talk:
Ben Franklin: I am a inventor, writer and scientist
Me: I am a young Patriot
Ben Franklin: I tried to write to the King to stop making laws that were unfair
Me: Yeah, I would be okay if he stopped making unfair laws
Ben Franklin: I think that they will keep making unfair laws
Me: I think that that is bad
Ben Franklin: I believe that the colonists will be able to govern themselves
Me: I definitely believe that
Ben Franklin: So let's both keep working on trying to get loyalists to be patriots
Me: Yes, I will

After we did that, we looked at what time it was and saw that if we wanted to go to the regular Universal Park instead of just the Islands of Adventure, we would have to go there soon because they closed earlier. We got there and we looked at the Despicable Me line. It was really long, but that was one of the only things that we wanted to go on, so we waited in it. It was a fun ride. After that we went to the Transformers ride I think was even better that the Despicable Me, mainly because I have liked Transformers for a long time even though I have not watched the third and there is a fourth coming soon. After that we thought that we would eat, then get some Butterbeer.

After that we wanted to go on a ride that let you go above the whole Jurassic park area but unfortunately we were too tall to ride it. We were kind of bummed out, but we went over to do the other water rides. First we did the Popeye and Bluto Bilge Rat Barges. It is a boat ride that seats about 8 to 10 people and is circular.  It was fun, but when we saw the next ride, it kind of blew our minds. It was called Dudley Do-Rights Rip Saw Falls. It is kind of like Splash Mountain at Disney because it has a story.

Narrator: One night in 1765 in New York at the time it was an American colony. There was a patriot and a neutral who crossed paths again.
Patriot: Cheerio
Neutral: How is cocka doodle doing
Patriot: Good, more and more are joining my side every day. Its amazing.
Loyalist: Your people are mad!!!
Patriot: Oh, you. How's it going. You can always switch sides if you want.
Loyalist: No patriot, Neutral you must join my side. You owe Britain, they protected you.
Patriot: Why listen to him. He is mad. He wants us to pay crazy taxes just so lousy King George III can get his back waxed or something. They're crazy.
Neutral: Umm, I don't know who to choose, I choose the Patriot because he's sane.
Loyalist: How could you choose him, and go to war and fight King George III.
Neutral: Like this(Neutral punches Loyalist in the face) That's how I would go to war. Strong like all rest of the patriots. ;-)

Literary Essay

I am writing about the book: The Time Travelers. I will write about the character Kate Dyer. This character is a character who is the eldest kid, and she is very protective of her little brothers and sisters. She likes to have a simple life on a farm with not many people around but family.
Kate is a person that would rather have a life with no crazy actions and moments than she would want a crazy life with every twist and turn something else happens. She worries about her brothers and sisters. In the book though she gets stronger and stronger and learns that she has to be brave to get through the adventure that she is in.
I have an excerpt to prove my idea about Kate: "The year?" "Yes, the year" "Why, the year of or lord seventeen hundred and sixty-three. "1763" mouthed kate silently. The shock of it was too much for Peter to take in, and for a moment he felt no emotion at all. then he had a strong urge to giggle but found himself instead sinking to the ground. Kate kept repeating "1763" to herself as if to hammer the meaning home. She turned very pale and then said, "I feel a bit dizzy," and collapsed at Gideon's feet.
This explains my idea because she just figured out that she got transported to 1763 and  she would rather have a simple life than one that twists and turns every minute.
Overall, Kate is a very worried character that figures out that she needs to be tough and try not to think about family.

AHW (Vacation!)

After I got the cards, we went on another roller coaster called Buckbeak's Flight. It is a nice small coaster. It was getting close to mid day, and we thought we might grab some lunch so we went into the Jurassic park area. There was an outside area with a really nice view of quite a lot of the park. You could see the Hulk coaster, and many other things. After we ate, we went of the Jurassic Park river adventure. You don't get very wet, but it is really cool because right before the drop there is a T-Rex.

Dear Apple Company,

Hi, my name is Ryan H. I am writing to tell about a problem that I had with your products and how they react to wiki's. I think that you would need to make it so that you would be able to use Apple ipads in general on wikis.

Our class is a frequent user of your products and wikis, and we have found that when we use our wiki that we have created, your devices will not be able to post very good on wikis, and on some occasions, we have a very hard time getting to the page. I started noticing this problem ever since the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. Almost everyone in our class has some kind of apple device, and most of them are ipads. They do not like it when they are not able to use the wiki and then they have to go through a lot of trouble to get another device, and some of them take a long time to load. Most of the time we are on a time limit so you can't take that long or else it will be homework.

I know that at least throughout my whole Birmingham Public Schools school discrict, people use wikis, and people use ipads. Many people are fans of your products. I just want to step up and show what to do to make it better, not just for us, but for other people too. I am saying that lots of people all across the world use Wikispaces, or wikis. They also use ipads. So you will probably want to make an update to satisfy your customers or else they will go to other brands such as android or google.

Luckily for you, I have a solution to this problem. I think that you should have an update to all of your systems. I think that you could do it along with iOS 8 if you want to. But please make ipads, itouches, and iphones compatible with wikis. Your company and wikispaces are both pretty big companies. I think that you should come together and your devices should work with wikis.

Thank You,
Ryan H.

Backtrack off of vacation for just a bit. This is my 150th post. Since I don't think that I will get to 200 this year, I am going to celebrate this one too. It is also my 1777th page view. I think it is cool that there are two big numbers on one day. I know my vacation things are probably getting a bit boring, and since I realized that it was my 150th post as well as my 1777th page view, I thought it was a good change for right now. Anyway, I like seeing that I have written so much in the year. I think it is pretty crazy. But if I went back to last year in the wiki and counted, I would probably be amazed with how much I did on there too.

Once we all were totally ready, we all got into the rental car that we rented, a Ford Fusion. We were driving to universal. We were planning on not stopping until we got to the Harry Potter ride because that ride really gets long after a while. How long? An hour and 30 minutes. So we did not want to wait in that. I think that it was a fun ride. I closed my eyes for some parts, but for the most part I kept them open. When you get off the ride it leads you into a shop. I got some playing cards with characters and quotes from characters on them. I think that they are pretty cool, but I would hav liked them better if they had 52 different people on them.

Dear Mr. Morawski,

Hi, my name is Ryan H. and I am in 6th grade in Mr. Joseph's class. I am contacting you to ask you to put recycle bins in the lunch room. This problem was caused because you took away the recycle bins. This means that most students and some staff will not recycle because of this.

BCS took away their recycle bins and now, most people are throwing things away that could be recycled. I understand that you probably took them away because people were throwing trash in them, but you could have some kind of assembly where you tell people to not throw trash in them.

This problem occurs to me every school day and it started about a year ago. I have to recycle my yogurt cup at my house. It is kind of a pain, and most people do not do what I do. Schools across the USA probably have the same problem.I think that our school could be a model to other schools. Since school waste is up to 80% recyclable, schools make a huge impact when they recycle. Recycling is also cheaper than trash disposal, so it helps save the environment AND your budget! (lessismore.org) We may be doing something good to the rest of the USA. Plus, we are supposed to be a green school right?

I think that the solution to this problem is first, you put out some recycle bins right next to the trash cans. Next, you should have a recycle dumpster as well as a garbage one. Finally, you should have an assembly about it and establish some consequences if they throw trash in the recycle bins or if they throw recycles in the trash.

Please consider putting  recycle bins in the lunch room. If we do, we will set an example and make the world a better place.

Thank You,
Ryan H.

My dad, my sister, and I decided to go down to either go into the pool or into the hot tub. We came down and we decided it was too late for the pool, so we just went in the hot tub for a little while. That was nice.

The next day we got up around 6:30 to eat breakfast so that we could go to Universal Studios Pretty early. There is a very big breakfast area in the hotel. They even have a sign with zones to tell you what time you should go to breakfast so you don't have to wait in long lines. There was a green zone, which was the early time with about no lines. Next was the yellow zone with some lines. The latest was the red zone where everyone came and there were very long lines. I think that most of the days we were in green. We went back upstairs and we realized that we were not going to get there right on time.

We got to the hotel and my dad and I went to check in. There were Mexican suckers there called Chupa Chups even though we were in Florida, not Mexico. We got all of our stuff in and had to go down a really long hallway to get to our room. We then realized that for all of the other times we had to get to our room, there were stairs, an elevator, and a separate entrance that we could come in from. We went to a Mexican restaurant named Chevy's.

I went into the hot tub for a bit. Then I had to get out because we were going to eat dinner with my other cousin, Michelle. We went to the Bonefish Grill, which they said is actually a chain, but I had never heard of it before. I got a burger. I think that it was good. I'm sure if it is the best one I've had, but it was good.

The next day we woke up and ate Breakfast and packed up the few things that we had gotten out. This was a driving day. It was ok. We got Subs for lunch.

We were waiting for our mom to get ready to go back to my aunt's house, so I started watching some TV. I think that it was nice to relax for that little bit. Pretty soon after, we were off to eat some lunch. We thought that we would have to drive there, but it turns out it was really close to our hotel. After lunch, we went to see my aunt again. The dogs greeted us and they were used to us, so it wasn't long until they settled down. I got to play fetch with one of their dogs, Bubba. I thought it was really nice to play with him.

The only thing that I forgot to tell you about the Sunday, is that One of my cousins came over with his wife and their two kids. I barely ever see them and I didn't even remember them when I saw them.

Ok, on to Monday. First thing I am going to say. We got to sleep in, A LOT. We had woken up at 5:00 AM on Sunday. It felt really nice to sleep. Anyway, we got breakfast. Not in the tourist part of Florida so the breakfast place has about 7 other people in it, maybe less. We just relaxed in our room after that.

After we ate lunch, I went into the pool. It was a hot day, so the pool was cold, but I got used to it and it felt good. I went into the hot tub after that for a little while. We all had a great dinner after that. There was good Costco chicken and nice steak. I liked the steak. There was also asparagus. I liked giving the pieces that I didn't like to the dogs and looking at how fast they could eat them. It was amazing. Especially with the biggest one Bubba. We then went to a Holiday Inn to sleep. It was a nice day.

The next day was Sunday. After a very early wake up at 5:00 or 5:30am at the Sleep Inn, we got to take a big taxi time hotel shuttle beck to the Atlanta airport. We then got a breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, potato squares they called hash browns, and a biscuit. It was good for a fast food place. We got on the plane and then we drove for about 2 hours after that down to my aunt's house. We went to a restaurant called Shrimper's. Guess what I got there.

Break!!

I went to Florida over break. I will start with the Saturday story. So, we thought that we were going to get on a plane going all of the the way to Orlando for 2 hours. That was the plan at least. All of the sudden we heard someone on a loudspeaker say: We are overbooked by about 30 people on this airplane so we are looking for volunteers to either go to Atlanta today and then the next day get to Orlando or just go to Orlando tomorrow. For either option you got $600 per person. We volunteered and we went to Atlanta on Saturday and slept there.

I like breaks. Breaks are a time to relax and have some fun. I am glad because after this, I finished all of my homework. I like to go on vacations and stay at home. It really does not matter which one you do, you are still having more time to relax than in school. I like to do break. I think mid winter and spring break are the best because you are right in the middle of a lot of school, and you get to relax. I will use these days the best I can. Breaks are nice, they give you time to relax.

I had boy scouts. I think that I finished the whole first aid merit badge, but I'm not sire. I might of just finished it for today. I think that I am done. It seemed really easy for a Eagle scout required merit badge. It is nice that it is so quick if I did finish it. Our merit badge teacher brought in CPR dummies so that we could test out doing CPR. At first it was really hard to even push down once. I found the right spot, and it started getting really easy. In a real situation, you have to do 100 chest compressions. There is no breathing anymore. I thought that was what CPR was really about.

My sister does gymnastics. Sometimes I wonder how she bends her body in so many different ways. She can do the splits almost all three ways. She is really close to the third. I think that I would not be so good at that. Everyone has their own thing. I am good at soccer, and that is just my thing. She is good at gymnastics, and that is just her thing. Sometimes I go to her meets, and sometimes she goes to my games. We are pretty even. We both are amazed at each others skills, and we both don't really want to join the other's sport. I think that's this is just the way we are. Brother and sister.

I checked my blog just now, and I saw that I did 75 in 2014 and 57 in 2013. I thought that that was nice because it is neat that they are opposites. This is the only time it is going to happen with 2013 and 2014. I also thought it was kind of nice that I am starting a new month and it will only have 1 post in it, which will be this one. I like the whole concept of looking at page views and post numbers. I think that it is nice that I can do that and just be interested. I like that I only have band practice left for homework. I had homework from every class, but not much from each.
